Home for a few


Wow! Chesapeake Bay Teacher Research Fellowship. Orientation week at Solomon's Island was so much fun!
Today I got to...
:Hold a sea squirt
:Catch a white choker fish with my bare hands
:Smile at a comb jelly through a microscope
:Dredge for oysters
:Trawl for fish and crab
:Dissect an oyster heart
:Identify Diatoms
:Watch a Barnacle eat
:Photograph a Sea Anemone
:Dig through mud from the bottom of the Patuxtent
:Remember invertebrate zoology and phyotplankton classes
and lastly
Nerd Alert~:Collect DO, temp, salinity, and depth with the coolest probe ever.



Lesson Idea #1
Compare water quality and sedimentation between streams Upper Bay, Middle Bay, and Lower Bay.
