Autumn in
Sadness about my friend Ned (who looks like Superman on certain days and Hugh Grant others) lost his wife, Stephanie, to cancer at the age of 33. They had just married this summer and she was diagnosed on August 1, and died September 16. The funeral was yesterday and it was the tragic. Our department was there for him, but it's hard to know what to say. He has to return to school next week, we only get 5 days of berievement. Truly makes one value what we do have each moment.

I can't believe she was only 33. So sad. I hope your friend's OK. You were so sweet to be so there for him.
There is nothing worse than losing someone so quickly. It does make you want to hold onto everything dear. Every day.

Or to St. George where the Mormons play golf and the Virgin River gurgles ever-shallower. Urgh.
